Momentum or price................

another example that sometimes I stick to the match even in a 3rd set is the Kirilenko v Martinez Sanchez, but it is not the momentum, it is the price.again, this I call discretionary trading.

I forgot to mention that sometimes the price is keeping me in the match, even in 1set and TB

Roger Oasis posting from the BF forum.........

Seems like a good day for you,
horselover, plus a retirement that went your way.I'll reply to the points you raised tomorrow as I'm too tiired after a long day at the office today and don't want to type something that I later re-read and think - "Oh hell, I didn't mean it like that".My initial thoughts were based round using more stats.i.e. Which favourite players regularly win - but take 3 sets to do it and you might be scratching too early. From what I have read, this happenms more in women's tennis. I know Murray used to be famous for making hard work of his matches. What I mean is are you scratching too early with favourites who take 3 sets to win?I'll stop there as I'm just adding more sentences trying to make my meaning clear. Thanks very much for your kind comments, they are appreciated, believe me.I think you are very brave to openly post your plan and strategy - and it has been already said, leave yourself open to abuse. Also hello to Layem and payem - the Rodger mistake is forgiven - providing I can call you Payem and layem!
Nighty-night.

my answer

Roger OASIS,

I am sure You earned Your beer and a quiet evening. I am already retired. regarding the retirements, let me explain my point of view. lets take the retirement from yesterday, it happened when my selection was up 1st set and 1:0. I couldnt lose in this match anyway. Dementieva was 1.28, I will need 2-3 retirements for each retirement against me.

I personally dont think that I will get so many retirements to equalize the retirements against me. I have to eat it as it comes You are 100% right that I need to use the stats that You mentioned. but as I said , I like stats, but I cant work with excel to program it the way I would need it. those stats would be 100% very helpful in any way.

what I am doing now, is experience only. over the years I followed the tennis prices and saw reccurring price movements. especially the panic movements (over and under reactions).the scratch trade is for me the most important trade, even if I scratch sometimes to early, but who knowswhat is to early? this we know only after the match. I am still convinced that a scratch to early is not hurting me.
I also use Gruss.

thanks again for the posting and trying to help. and thumbs up for Your sentence:

"Good of you to post and i do like a thread where we can exchange these ideas, experiences and strategies without being abusive"

I've already suggested atleast once to horselover that he's happy to scratch with momentum when his player has been winning and yet he scratches against momentum when his player comes from behind and perhaps this is something he could look at. Perhaps you will take the time to explain this thoroughly. Favourite backers have done well today.

my answer

if You take yesterday as an example, Nalbandian,Verdasco and Bolleli lost their match, and I would not be in + if I would let those matches run to the end.a TB for me is like a coin toss, and there are only few exceptions like Roddick, Murray, Isner etc. (sure the ground of play is imprtant)the same is with the 3rd set, for me it is mostly not always a toss of a coin. but also here the discretionary trade is an important part.every day I am learning more and more with every match.I dont like players or someone else coming from behind :)

anyway thanks for the well meant contribution.

S.Navarro............

I backed

S.Navarro 1.30

Kirilenko rollover......................

Kirilenko rollover to today
